The brief
Fire Safe Global needed its fire safety expertise in a form that could be delivered consistently online, without relying on every session being run in person. The course had to be accurate, easy for non-specialists to follow, and show clearly whether each learner had understood it.
Approach
The work started with the subject matter rather than the technology. The material was broken into seven short topics, each with a single clear goal, ordered so each one builds on the last.
- A logical sequence, from the science of fire through to the law and servicing.
- Plain-English narration, so learners without a technical background can follow it.
- Practical tasks alongside the videos, because doing something sticks better than watching it.
The aim was training people finish and remember, not a slide deck they click through.
What was built
- A branded learning academy at academy.brackenfort.co.uk with learner sign-in.
- Seven narrated topics that unlock in sequence.
- Seven hands-on tasks that turn each topic into practice.
- Saved progress, so learners can stop and pick up where they left off.
- A 15-question final assessment with an 85% pass mark, marked automatically.
- Client dashboards with licences, learner and manager roles, mandatory courses, overdue flags, certificates and CSV export.
- Watch-to-unlock tasks, so every video is seen in full before learners can move on.
The result
Fire Safe Global has a repeatable, roughly 40-minute course that delivers the same quality of training every time and can be rolled out to new learners quickly. It runs with little to no day-to-day input, and every pass is earned.
The same approach works for any organisation with expertise to share: inductions, compliance refreshers, product training or client-facing courses.
