Why it matters
Training is a legal duty, not a nice-to-have.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, employers in England and Wales must give staff adequate fire safety training. It has to happen when someone starts, when the risks they face change, and again at suitable intervals, and it must take place during working hours.
Online courses give you a consistent, recorded way to cover the knowledge part of that duty. Every learner sees the same material, every result is marked by the system, and managers can see who is up to date at a glance. Practical elements, such as walking your own escape routes or handling an extinguisher, still belong on site.
