Who it's for

First aiders working towards First Aid at Work.

First Aid at Work is the longer, more advanced standard. First Aid Essentials and Advanced First Aid together cover its theory online, and the training provider teaches and assesses the practical skills face to face. The FAW certificate comes from the training provider once those skills have been assessed in person.

HSE-recognised first aid certificates, such as Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) and First Aid at Work (FAW), cannot be earned fully online. The practical skills must be taught and assessed face to face by a qualified trainer. This course is the online theory part, which a training provider pairs with the in-person practical.

FORMAT

Narrated video lessons with captions, on any phone, tablet or computer. The practical skills are taught and assessed separately, in person.

ASSESSMENT

30 questions, marked by the system. Learners need 24 correct (80%) to pass.

CERTIFICATE

A record of the online theory, issued on passing and kept for four years. It is not a first aid certificate on its own: the training provider issues that once the practical skills have been assessed in person.
